Online Survey: “How Do You Address Controversial Issues in the Classroom?”

Nov 6, 2026

How do you approach a question that has no single correct answer? What do you do when students express conflicting views? What kind of support do you need to address complex and sensitive topics in your teaching?

ACES – Ambiguity Competence for Education and Society, invites primary and secondary school teachers to take part in a survey exploring how they address ambiguity, different perspectives and controversial issues that arise in the classroom and throughout the learning process.

You can contribute to the research by completing the survey here.

Why is your participation important?

By taking 15 minutes to complete the online questionnaire, you will contribute to:

  • Understanding how teachers approach open-ended questions and differing viewpoints in the classroom.
  • Identifying challenges related to teaching, assessment and the school environment.
  • Highlighting training and support needs based on everyday teaching practice.

There are no right or wrong answers. What matters is your own experience and perspective.

About the survey

The survey is being conducted in Greece, Germany, Spain and Finland and explores teachers’ experiences, teaching practices and working conditions.

Voluntary participation and data protection

Your responses will remain confidential and will be used exclusively for scientific research purposes, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Published findings will not allow individual participants or their schools to be identified. You may skip any question or withdraw from the survey at any time.
