Aces Consortium meets in Mallorca to advance Key Phases of the project

Jul 1, 2026

As we look back on our days together in Mallorca, we are taking time to reflect on the rich conversations, educational encounters and collective insights that continue to shape the future of ACES.

Following the foundations established during our kick-off meeting in Munich in November 2025, the second Transnational Project Meeting of the ACES – Ambiguity Competence for Education and Society project marked a pivotal moment in our journey. Hosted by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), the meeting helped the consortium move from conceptual discussions towards future pedagogical and implementation pathways.

Over three inspiring days, partners from Germany, Greece, Finland and Spain explored educational complexity, democratic participation, inclusion and emotional safety through collaborative discussions and field-based educational inquiries. The reflections emerging from these experiences continue to inform the next phases of the project, particularly the development of teacher training approaches, pedagogical resources and future pilot activities.

Beyond the formal agenda, the meeting strengthened our shared understanding that ambiguity competence cannot be developed through abstract recommendations alone. It requires dialogue, relational learning and meaningful engagement with diverse educational realities.

As we continue building on the insights generated in Mallorca, we are also preparing the next milestones of ACES, including future transnational meetings and the ACES Summer School, which will take place in Greece in June 2027.

The meeting  reminded us that some of the most meaningful educational learning emerges when we create spaces to reflect together, embrace complexity and remain open to multiple perspectives.
